Obituary for Willie Mosley
Willie Mosley was called from labor to reward on January 4, 2012. He was born November 6, 1928 in Leesburg, Florida to the late Fred and Mamie Mosley. He attended Lake County Training School and later joined the United States Army. After leaving the army, he made his home in Jersey City, New Jersey for over 45 years. Willie was employed at National Westminster Bank as an armored car driver and later retired as a chauffeur for the renamed Bank of America’s CEO. It was at the bank where he met and later married the lovely Beatrice Robinson.
Willie and Beatrice were united in holy matrimony on March 8, 1991. They decided to move to Florida upon retirement. They moved to Ocala, Florida where he became employed as supervisor of security at Laurel Run, Ocala, Florida, until his illness prevented him from returning to work. Willie was loved by all the people at Laurel Run.
Willie and Beatrice joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Leesburg, Florida under the leadership of Rev. Arthur E. Middleton, Sr.; he served faithfully on Usher Board #1 until his illness. It was a joy for him to meet worshippers at the doors of Mt. Calvary and usher them to their seats.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Beatrice; three sons, Herbert Mosley, Tampa, FL, Morris Mosley, Jersey City, NJ, Eugene (Valarie) Mosley, West Orange, NJ; two daughters, Harriett Mosley, Tampa, FL, Annette (Gordon) Williams, Irvington, NJ; one step-daughter, Linda Robinson, Newark, NJ; one sister-in-law, Clara Mosley, Leesburg, FL; eleven grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Public viewing will held 5-7pm, Friday, January 13, 2012, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1012 Line Street, Leesburg, FL. A Celebration of Life will also be held at Mt. Calvary, 11am, Saturday, January 14, 2012. Interment will follow Celebration of Life service at Evergreen Cemetery, Leesburg, FL.
