Obituary for Wilhelmenia Lafrechione Youmans
Wilhelmenia Youmans was born on November 10, 1933 in Fairfax, South Carolina, where she also attended grade school. As a child she moved to Florida with her family; and she graduated from Lake County Training School, where she loved playing basketball. Her parents Mr. Frank Hicks and Mrs. Millie Clark Hicks preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her three sons, Herbert Youmans Jr., Cecil Youmans and Arthur Wright Sr., her sister Ruth Kerrison and her brother Isaiah Hicks.
She was married for 58 years to her late husband Herbert Youmans Sr.
She entrusted her life to God as the source of her strength in early life. As she sought spiritual refuge and a deeper religious conviction her experiences brought her into a closer walk with God under the Ministry of Pastor Al Brown at Zion Hope Baptist Church, Leesburg, FL. In later years she joined under the Ministry at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Fruitland Park, FL where she served under several pastors; and continued her membership under her current Pastor Allen Tillman. She was a faithful member for over 30+ years singing in the choir and serving many years as head of the Deaconess Ministry. She loved the Lord to the end of her precious life.
In passing she leaves a legacy of love and precious memories to be cherished by those who lives were enhanced by her existence.
