Obituary for Nathalie Melissa Frost
Nathalie Melissa Frost was born on October 20, 1967 in Daytona Beach, Florida to the parentage of the late Mr. Nathaniel Frost Sr. (February 2003) and Mrs. Dorothy Mae (Hogan) Frost (August 2013.) At the early age of six years old, Nathalie (commonly called Melissa) was baptized and was a member of Mount Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Florida. Throughout her life, she always gave God praise, glory and honor, even in her imperfections.
Melissa attended Volusia County Schools and graduated from Spruce Creek High School with Honors in 1985. She was an avid basketball and softball player during her tenure in school. Melissa was offered many scholarship opportunities for college to further her education in the sport of basketball. Little did Melissa know; God would reroute her paths. She moved to Orlando, Florida shortly after with her loving mother, Dorothy Frost aka Mama Dot. Melissa worked sporadically in the local hotels, linen services and commercial cleaning services business.
Melissa was a loving, giving, kind-hearted, caring, compassionate and amiable humanitarian. She had a heart of gold with a venomous bite whenever she felt someone was attempting to hurt, harm or endanger her family or herself.
Melissa was a benevolent giver and consistently attempted to please and lavish those around her. She touched a multitude of lives in the many communities that she resided in. Melissa’s spirit was infectious and those who knew her were definitely blessed to have known her. Melissa always went the extra mile, day in and day out to express her love to her children, grandchildren, sisters, brother and those whom she felt was near and dear to her heart.
Melissa married her longtime mate, Clarence C. Crosby (Orlando, Florida), on April 11, 2016. Clarence preceded Melissa in death in April 2017.
Melissa leaves to mourn her departure and celebrate her life, her (six 6) children, Lance (Talisa) Grant Sr. (Orlando), Bacari Frost (Deland), Dante’(Ebonee’) Frost (New Port Richey), Erika Graham (Orlando), Charles Polk (Orlando) and Delecia Crosby (Orlando); six (6) siblings: Cynthia (Morgan) Frost-Durr (Daytona Beach), Tonjali (Ellis) Frost-Daniley (Orlando), Corey Woods (Ohio), Chante Woods (Ohio), Michael Woods (Ohio) and Nathaniel (Lavetta) Frost Jr. (Atlanta); A special Cousin: Keona (Marlon)Munson: Ten (10) grandchildren: Naomi Scott (Daytona Beach), Ashton Grant (Daytona Beach), Aubrey Frost (Orlando), Lance Grant Jr. (Winter Park), Aaliyah Frost (Orlando), Charles Legend Polk (Orlando), Tayah Frost (New Port Richey), Amy Grant (Lakeland), Sincere Frost (New Port Richey) and Chloe Dior Massie (Orlando); A devoted and loving Grandmother, Elizabeth McRae (Orlando); Two very loyal God-brothers, Anthony (Jackie) Butler Sr. and Waymond Chambers Jr.; an extremely devoted and loving God-Sister, Carlitia Anderson; two God-children: Terry ‘Teddy’ Lee Lampkin and LaToya Hayes; and a truly special Stepmother, Elaine Gurley.
In addition to celebrating Melissa’s life of legacy will be Uncles: Levi Payne, Eugene (Gloria-deceased) Todd, Stanley (Anna) John, the late Caleb Frost, and Henry (Bobbie) Frost; Aunties: Inez Silvera, the late Nellie (John) Foy, Loretha Ratcliff, the late Bertha Holmes, Thelma Jordan, Doreatha Merritt; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
