Obituary for Joseph Sterling Green
A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and
brother, Joseph Green, 67, of Leesburg, Florida passed
away peacefully July 29, 2020. He had bravely confronted
and fought cancer. He was born April 22, 1953 in
Brunswick County, GA., to the late Eddie and Annie Green. Joseph Green was educated by Hampton County Public Schools. He later moved to Florida where he married his wife Mary Green in 1979. He worked as a long-time truck driver for the City of Leesburg. Joseph excepted Christ and became a member of Freewill Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eddie and Annie
Green, his brother Eddie Green Jr., Helen Marie, Beatrice Green, and sons Isaac McCoy, and Naman McCoy Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 41 years, Mary Green of Leesburg, Florida; brothers Wilbur Green Calabash, NC and Noah (Emma) Green Longs, SC; sisters Lina Johnson, Mary M. Stanley, Elizabeth Relford of Calabash, NC and Geneva Davis of Leesburg, FL; Daughters: Mary (Xavier) Sanchious, Tralonie Vicks, Lakashia (Emmanuel) Mitchell. Sons: Napolean (April) McCoy, and Keith McCoy. Brothers-in-law: James (Winnie) Hodge, Mack Arthur Hodge, Leesburg, FL; Edward Hodge of Uniondale, NY; Sisters-in-law: Annie Crossley, Leesburg, FL; Louise McCullough, Margie (Robert) Carlton, Rose (Willie) Ellis, Opelika Alabama. As well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
